How do I connect my gaming system, smart TV, or streaming media device to the wireless network?
Gaming systems, streaming media players, smart speakers, and smart TVs cannot connect to the wifi-secure network. Instead, they must connect to the wifi-psk network.
Connecting to wifi-psk is a three-step process:
- Find the MAC address for the device - You can try to find the device's MAC address on your own by scrolling through the settings menu of your device. There should be a sub-menu with network information, including the MAC address. If you're unable the MAC address this way, do a Google search for "find MAC address" and the name of your device. For example, if you've got an Apple TV, enter "find MAC address Apple TV" as your search term.
- Register device
- From the browser on another device, go to the self-registration page: https://enac1.westtown.edu/self_registration
- Login with your short network username and Westtown password
- On the welcome page, enter your westtown.edu email address, check the box next to “I agree to the acceptable use policy”, and click “Complete registration”.
- Click “Add” on the device registration page
- Fill out fields in the registration form:
- User Name: automatically populated
- MAC address: enter the MAC address of your device with no colons or dashes
- Description: type of device
- Click “Submit”
- Your device is now registered.
- Connect the device to the wifi-psk network
- Connect it to the wifi-psk network and enter the password "12345678".
