Installing Ruvna on an Android phone
In the event of an emergency or drill, Ruvna is the tool we use to quickly identify which students/faculty are safe, and which require attention. Please follow these instructions to install the Ruvna app on your Android phone, log in, and set your notification preferences.
Installing the Ruvna app
- Open the App Store
- Search for “Ruvna”
- Find the “Ruvna Faculty & Staff” app in the search results and tap “Install.”
Open the Ruvna app
After the installation is complete, tap 'Open' to launch the Ruvna Android app. Alternatively, you can find the new Ruvna app icon on your device's home screen or in your app drawer.
Sign in with Google
With the Ruvna app/webpage open, tap on the “Sign In with Google” button to log in. Follow the prompts to log in with your Westtown email address and password (this may require 2-step authentication).
Set Notification Preferences
- Once logged in, tap the user icon in the top right corner
- Select "Notification Preferences" from the menu
- Double-check to make sure the phone number matches the number of the cell phone on which you installed Ruvna. If the number does not match, tap on the number, replace it with the correct cell phone number on the “Phone Number” screen, then tap the blue “Save” button to update the number.
- Toggle all the notification options under “Emergency Start” and “Emergency End” to blue so you will receive all the notifications sent by Ruvna at the beginning and end of an emergency event or drill. Leave the options under “Message Received” toggled off.
