How do I project using Chromecast?

Introduction:

  • A Google Chromecast (Chromecast) is a streaming device that allows you to wirelessly project your computer screen.
  • There is already a Chromecast plugged into most projectors on campus.
  • Each Chromecast is named by building and room number (eg. IH201, MH125, MS103, SC-201, etc.)
    • IH = Industrial Hall
    • MH = Main Hall
    • MS = Middle School
    • SC = Science Center

    • Tab - Cast specific browser tab
    • Desktop - Cast entire computer screen
    • File - Cast music and videos from your computer

  • Using your projector remote control, select the HDMI input that corresponds to where the Chromecast is plugged in.

To Stop Casting:

  • Open Chrome browser
  • Click three-dot icon (top-right of browser)
