Setting up your Blackbaud ID

Blackbaud is the software company that maintains our MyWesttown site. The article below contains detailed step-by-step instructions for setting up a Blackbaud ID, which you must do the first time you log into MyWesttown. Please note that the email address we have on record is the one you'll use for setting up your Blackbaud ID. If you would like to use a different email address or if you have any questions, email helpdesk@westtown.edu, and our Technology Office will assist you.


STEP 1: Go to MyWesttown and enter email address

Go to MyWesttown (https://westtown.myschoolapp.com), enter your email address that we have on record in the "Email address" field, then click the "Next" button.

STEP 2: Sign up with Email, Google, or Apple

You will be taken to a "Sign Up" page. Choose to either Continue with Email, Continue with Google, or Continue with Apple. Continuing with Email gives you the ability to set a password for your Blackbaud ID. Continuing with Google or Apple are single sign-on options, allowing you to login with your Google or Apple account without having to keep track of an additional password. Sign up steps for each option are outlined below.

Continue with Email

1. At the sign up page, click “Continue with Email”

2. Enter email address and click “Continue”

3. Click “Send confirmation code”. Leave this browser tab open, and go check your email inbox (either in another tab or from another device) to locate the access code. Copy or remember the six-digit access code in the email.

4. Go back to the tab with the “Confirm your account” screen. Paste or enter the six-digit access code, then click “Confirm”

5. Complete the following fields: Password, Confirm password, First Name, and Last Name. Click “Sign Up” (note the password requirements - you'll see a green check when the password you've entered meets the requirements)

Continue with Google

1. At the sign up page, click “Continue with Google”

2. You'll be taken to a "Choose your account" page

3. Select or sign into the Google account you will use to login

Continue with Apple

1. At the sign up page, click "Continue with Apple"

2. You'll be taken to a "Choose your account" page

3. Select the Apple account you will use to login

NOTE: If you are taken directly to the Blackbaud “Sign in” page instead of the “Sign up” page, you have already set up your Blackbaud ID account and do not need to proceed with the rest of these steps. Simply enter your Blackbaud ID password to login. If you are not sure what that password is, you can follow these instructions to reset it.

STEP 3: Sign in with your new Blackbaud ID

Enter the email address you used for your Blackbaud ID, check the "Remember me" box, and click "Next".

You will be prompted to sign in using the authentication method previously set-up. If you selected the "Continue with Google" or “Continue with Apple” option when setting up your account, click "Continue with Google" or “Continue with Apple” on the next page to login.  If you selected the “Continue with Email” option, enter your password on the next page, click the "Remember my email" box, and click the "Sign in" button.

The next time you login to MyWesttown, your email address should be already filled in on the login page. You'll click the "Next" button, then enter your password and click "Sign in" on the next page (or click "Continue with Google" or “Continue with Apple”).
